HAWAIIAN NAME: Kukui
This bracelet is a great option for those who prefer not to wear a floral lei. Because kukui nuts are long lasting, it makes for a great souvenir to take back home.
Flower allergies? It’s hypoallergenic!
FRAGRANCE: Unscented
RECOMMENDED: Women
Kukui was first introduced by early Polynesian settlers and soon became one of the most common trees in the Hawaiian forest. Hawaiians didn’t only use the nuts for leis. They also used it for oils, food, and also made use of the leaves as well.
Fallen dried mature nuts of the kukui tree are sanded down and polished. Holes are made at the ends to remove nut meat and string the nuts together. The smoothened nuts are strung together with a black ribbon.

My parents surprised us with some fresh flower leis. The girls in our group received these bracelets. While the flower leis were beautiful and we loved them so much, we were able to save these bracelets as souvenirs which was really cool!

We saved these bracelets to remember our first trip to Hawai’i! (which was also our honeymoon)

We got my husband a kukui nut lei and an orchid lei for me. Since his lei was considered a “souvenir lei” …. he got me a bracelet so I could have a souvenir too.

I ordered a surprise lei greeting for my son on his graduation trip to Hawai’i. He was very pleased with his kukui nut lei and matching bracelet. I wasn’t there to share the moment with him, but I was still able to make it memorable with a surprise greeting.
